Leighton Park School
In 1890 Leighton Park School was opened by members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). In the past 125 years the school has developed extensively and the school roll has grown to 450. Over the years, the school grounds have improved dramatically as well.
The 1980’s saw the addition of Astroturf, a library and a science and technology centre, a central dining facility in 2004 and the Caradon Sixth Form Centre was opened in 2006. But most recently, in 2014, a new Food Technology facility was opened and it was the responsibility of Alan Rumney, Head of Estates at Leighton Park School, to source new appliances.
As with the majority of schools looking to acquire new appliances, Alan wanted to consider outright purchase, as well as rental options. But after contacting Utility Rentals for a quotation, it soon become evident that renting new equipment was the most cost effective option.
As Utility Rentals have been helping the education sector to obtain new equipment since 1989, they understand the budget restrictions schools often face and as such have aligned themselves with some of the UK’s biggest manufacturers. This enables them to provide appliances that they are certain can withstand the high usage they receive in a school environment, at the most competitive rental pricing nationwide – they won’t be beaten on price!
Alan Rumney explains, “Renting our new appliances from Utility Rentals was the better option for the school. They offered me the best appliances and as they include a full parts and labour breakdown warranty, the school does not have to fund maintenance costs for the period of the contract. Plus, when the contract has reached the end of its minimum term rental period, we have the option of upgrading the appliances again if we want to, so for us it’s a win-win situation.
But it was the great support network at the end of the telephone that made my decision that much easier. The additional support that was offered and the confidence I felt from Sophie, our Account Manager, and the team was great. Having one contact in place that I could build a professional working relationship over the telephone with reassured me that the service the company provides is one that I could trust now and moving forward in the future.”
When Alan was asked about his overall experience with Utility Rentals he said, “I think the support and care the team provides is the perfect balance for me as the customer. Their costs are spot on which makes it an easy decision when contemplating whether to rent or purchase new appliances.
I would not hesitate to recommend Utility Rentals to another school or college. I feel they have provided me with a quality, professional service, with a wide choice of equipment, great pricing and the service and support network they have in place is second to none!”
