Mileshield Commercial Funding and Longriver Leasing Limited act as lessors for other equipment. We have concentrated on providing equipment for social housing. This has been mainly gas central heating equipment and replacement windows through our tax-based operating lease. We have pioneered these products so as to enable councils to acquire the equipment they need and pay for it through their revenue account. We currently have 28 councils as clients and this number is continually growing. Schemes make the best use of all available funds including substantial public grant aid and private funding arrangements such as operating leases, service agreements and Public Private Partnerships. We have also funded street lighting and public conveniences for local authorities and other equipment for parish councils. School boilers have been funded in a groundbreaking PPP arrangement which qualifies under the "Spend to Save" provisions within PFI.
