The double award winning Central Street Cookery School, within St Luke’s Community Centre, was launched in 2012. Offering a range of corporate cookery classes for team building events, as well as hosting parties and cooking classes simply for fun and to learn new skills, it’s a fantastic learning facility. When it came to sourcing appliances for the new cookery room Sofia Craxton, Chef and Manager at Central Street Cookery School knew it was important to find appliances that not only suited the design of the new kitchen, but appliances that would also suit the ongoing needs of the staff and their students. Sofia explains, “At first, we looked into purchasing new equipment, but it was proving to be very expensive. It was then that the contractors who were designing the new kitchen suggested contacting Utility Rentals.”

Utility Rentals have helped schools to acquire appliances including white goods for nearly 35 years. The team understand which makes and models are best suited for high usage environments and they also appreciate how frustrating it can be for schools when their appliances breakdown and so include a full parts and labour breakdown warranty for the duration of the rental.

“After considering all of our options, we decided to rent our new equipment from Utility Rentals. The Sales Team were very helpful when it came to suggesting the right appliances and they were even able to source a model which was suitable for students in a wheelchair, as we requested. Although, one of the greatest benefits of using Utility Rentals is the warranty they are able to provide. If any of the items stop working, we can contact them and they will arrange any repairs required.” said Sofia.

Utility Rentals don’t just include a breakdown warranty, but they also take care of the initial delivery and installation too. In addition to this, they can disconnect, remove and dispose of any existing appliances in-line with the WEEE directive, as well. Many other providers are usually unable to offer these additional services and those who do, are likely to only include them at an additional cost. This ultimately leaves staff at the school with the tricky task of not only sourcing suitable installation agents, but also ensuring they remain under budget.

Sofia concluded “Utility Rentals’ service has been very good, right from our initial enquiry, to having our appliances delivered and installed, through to any ongoing maintenance required. We haven’t had any problems so far and have been very pleased; we would happily recommend Utility Rentals to others.”
